This eight-month intern project explored how personalisation could increase engagement across the interactive investor website and app. I led user research, design, and prototyping for our solutions which were a new personalised dashboard experience, and 'Investor Insights', a data-driven feature inspired by “Spotify Wrapped” for investments. The final solutions were fully prototyped and presented to the executive board, including the CEO.
Challenge.
The brief was broad, requiring us to define what meaningful personalisation looked like for existing customers. As an intern, I coordinated user research which included a customer survey about customers' current feelings surrounding personalisation as well as a preference test for the different layouts of the dashboard design. It was challenging to balance this project alongside my other ongoing work so I organised weekly meetings and set up a gantt chart to keep us on track. This ensured we could meet the deadline and produce work to the best of our ability.
Results.
The solutions received strong positive feedback. The work helped to shape future conversations around personalization within interactive investor as well as thoughts around how ‘Investor Insights’ could be implemented in the future. This project became one of my most impactful contributions during my placement and led to further conversations surrounding the dashboard and how research completed could positively impact future changes.
